- no article processing charges, publication fees, page charges, color charges, or table and figure fees;
- no supplementary-file, language-editing, copyediting, proofreading, layout, or typesetting fees;

02Free and Immediate Reader Access View details +
JSOMER does not charge readers subscription, institutional-access, registration, pay-per-view, download, archive-access, or supplementary-material fees.
Published scholarly content is made immediately available through the journal website without payment, subscription, embargo, or mandatory registration, subject to the applicable copyright and Creative Commons licensing terms.
03No Waivers or Discounts Are Needed View details +
Because JSOMER has no mandatory author fees, authors do not need to request, justify, or qualify for a waiver or discount.
The journal does not operate fee-waiver programs, country-based reductions, institutional discounts, membership discounts, promotional pricing, submission incentives, or payment-related publication agreements. Country, institution, funding status, employment status, career stage, and access to research funding do not affect eligibility for submission, peer review, acceptance, or publication.
04Editorial Independence from Financial Considerations View details +
Editorial decisions are based on relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, scholarly contribution, methodological appropriateness, transparency, ethics, reporting quality, reliability of evidence, independent peer review, author revisions, and compliance with journal policies.
No manuscript receives favorable or unfavorable treatment because of funding status, institutional resources, location, nationality, professional position, ability to pay, relationships with the publisher or funders, or potential commercial value.
- No payment may purchase peer review, acceptance, accelerated decisions, publication priority, favorable reports, special-issue inclusion, indexing or citation claims, or alteration of editorial or post-publication action.
- Editors, reviewers, Board members, Guest Editors, and journal staff must not request or accept payments, gifts, services, or benefits in return for favorable treatment.
05Funding and Operating Model View details +
JSOMER operates under an independent, nonprofit diamond open-access model. Routine publishing and technical expenses are funded directly by the publisher, Prof. Dr. Servet Üztemur.
Publisher support may cover the website, domain and hosting, OJS administration, DOI registration, manuscript management, copyediting, production, metadata, accessibility, maintenance, preservation arrangements, and other ordinary publishing expenses.
Financial support does not confer authority over scholarly assessment, reviewer selection, acceptance, rejection, correction, retraction, or publication scheduling. Editorial authority remains with the Editor-in-Chief and independently assigned editors.
06Revenue, Donations, Grants, and Sponsorship View details +
JSOMER does not currently derive revenue from author fees, subscriptions, article-access charges, advertising, sponsored editorial content, paid special issues, commercial manuscript services, membership fees, paid indexing services, payments linked to acceptance, paid citation arrangements, or favorable editorial treatment.
If the journal receives a donation, grant, institutional contribution, charitable support, or in-kind assistance in the future, the source and nature of that support will be disclosed where relevant. Support must not create editorial authority or influence manuscript assessment, review, decisions, publication timing, conclusions, corrections, Expressions of Concern, or retractions.
07Advertising, Sponsorship, and Direct Marketing View details +
JSOMER does not accept or display commercial advertising and does not publish advertorials, sponsored editorial content, paid promotional articles, product placement, commercial endorsements, paid links, paid search-engine optimization, or payments connected to citations or editorial visibility.
Academic communications and invitations must be accurate, appropriately targeted, professionally written, relevant, transparent about the journal’s identity, and limited so that they are not repetitive, misleading, intrusive, or coercive.
- Invitations must not guarantee review, acceptance, publication, or unusually rapid decisions.
- Invitations must not misrepresent indexing, metrics, ownership, fees, or editorial practices.
- Invitations must not imply favorable treatment, misuse harvested contact information, or conceal the sender.
- Guest Editors, Board members, reviewers, and third parties must not solicit manuscripts, payments, sponsorships, or promotions in JSOMER’s name without authorization.
08Optional Third-Party Services View details +
JSOMER does not require authors to purchase language editing, translation, statistical consultation, formatting, illustration, data analysis, or another external service.
Authors may obtain independent professional assistance at their own discretion. Use or nonuse of such a service does not influence editorial decisions, review time, acceptance, or publication priority.
JSOMER does not endorse or accept responsibility for an external commercial service unless an official relationship is stated explicitly on the journal website. Material assistance must be disclosed when required by the journal’s authorship, conflicts-of-interest, or artificial-intelligence policies.
09Fraudulent Payment Requests View details +
JSOMER does not issue publication-related invoices or payment requests. Any person or organization requesting a submission fee, APC, publication fee, special-issue fee, DOI fee, indexing fee, fast-track fee, withdrawal fee, or correction fee in JSOMER’s name should be treated as potentially fraudulent.
Official correspondence is conducted through the journal’s submission system or an authorized journal email address. Guest Editors, reviewers, Board members, and third parties are not authorized to collect payments on behalf of JSOMER.
Suspected fraudulent requests should be reported immediately to editor@jsomer.org.
10Special Issues and Invited Content View details +
Special-issue manuscripts and invited articles are subject to the same no-fee policy and editorial standards as regular submissions.
- no special-issue submission or publication fees;
- no Guest Editor processing fees;
- no invited-article fees; and
- no conference-related publication fees.
Guest Editors must not request or collect payments. Participation in a conference, project, association, network, or funded initiative does not create a financial obligation to JSOMER and does not guarantee publication.
11Withdrawal, Corrections, and Post-Publication Actions View details +
JSOMER does not charge a manuscript-withdrawal fee. Authors may request withdrawal under the journal’s publication and ethics procedures. The absence of a fee does not prevent investigation of duplicate submission, misconduct, authorship disputes, reviewer manipulation, invalid ethics approval, legal restrictions, or another serious concern.
Once formally published, an article cannot be treated as an ordinary withdrawal. JSOMER does not charge for reporting an error, requesting or publishing an approved correction, issuing an Expression of Concern, retracting an article, or taking another action necessary to maintain the scholarly record.
No payment may prevent, delay, accelerate, or influence a post-publication decision.
12Future Changes to the Financial Model View details +
JSOMER has no current plan to introduce author or reader fees. If the financial model changes, the journal will disclose the change clearly before implementation, including the type and exact amount, currency, taxes, purpose, payment timing, and any waiver or discount conditions.
Editorial decisions will remain independent of payment. Authors will be informed before submitting under new terms, and a new mandatory fee will not be applied retroactively to manuscripts submitted under the no-fee policy.
A manuscript submitted while the no-fee policy is in force will become subject to a newly introduced mandatory fee only with the informed and explicit agreement of all authors. Authors who do not agree may withdraw without charge or penalty. Material changes will be reported to relevant scholarly services where required.
13Authoritative No-Fee Position and Policy Review View details +
If any journal page, automated message, email, call for papers, or submission instruction appears to suggest that a mandatory author or reader fee exists, the inconsistency should be reported to the Editorial Office for correction.
The authoritative position is: JSOMER charges no fees to authors or readers.
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure consistency with the journal’s actual publishing, open-access, ownership, special-issue, editorial, and post-publication practices. Material changes will be disclosed on the journal website.
Report a Payment Request
Questions concerning fees, financial support, third-party services, or the journal’s operating model, and any suspected payment request made in JSOMER’s name, should be sent to editor@jsomer.org.
